I haven't been around for a month or two--DH has had a series of small
strokes Dawne, I'm sorry to hear about this! Best wishes toward his speedy recovery. Remember, tho, that you matter too! You deserve a little bit of "me time." And if that means taking 10 mins a day to skim rctn, then by all means allow yourself that time! Housework can slip, it will be there when you can get to it. Allow yourself to do simple things like eat off paper plates and cook casseroles that allow you a couple days of leftovers. Accept any help that neighbors or friends offer. Good luck, and keep us updated! not working on anything, but at least willing to dream about it again (((Dawne))) Sometimes you don't get time to stitch when life gets in the way, but keep *dreaming* -- that'll keep you going! Treat yourself to a manageable piece of stash or even just fondle the stash you have....the dream and desire is more important than the actual doing, sometimes! Sue |

{{{{{{Dawne}}}}} So sorry to hear about DH's mini strokes. I certainly hope
that they can get that under control. Life does have a way of crashing in on us sometimes. Please take care of yourself and find a little time to try and relax....join us when you can. It's always nice reading your posts. A friend of mine remarked the other day about not seeing anything from you lately...now we know why. take care, Mavia PS: Are you thawing out in your province yet? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dawne Peterson" Newsgroups: rec.crafts.textiles.needlework Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2004 11:27 AM Subject: OT I've missed you all I haven't been around for a month or two--DH has had a series of small strokes, DD is frantically busy, so besides my job I am the only person in a household of 3 adults and multiple pets doing any household work, shopping, cooking and whatever. Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time. Best wishes. You're one of
the level heads around here, so it isn't the same without you! You'll really enjoy stitching when you get back to it again. Dora |

PS: Are you thawing out in your province yet? Yesterday, when I went to school, it was -41C, with windchill making the equivalent of -52C. -52C. You wear two pair of mitts to wear for scraping the windshield, but the tips of your fingers go numb anyway in the time it takes to do the front one. You change to leather gloves for driving, because the roads are like arborite kitchen counter tops, since it is too cold for the salt/sand mixture to take hold and melt even little holes into the hard packed surface, and you need to be able to steer as you skid! I carry big hide mitts to change into to walk from the parking lot to the nearest building, so that I can start to thaw my fingers, which finish freezing on the steering wheel in the 10 minutes it takes to drive from my home. -52C. But today it is only -28C without the windchill, and only - 30something with it. Practically Marguerita and straw hat weather! Dawne |
