History
Campendonck was born in Krefeld and trained in Munich where he became
a member of Kandinsky's and Marc's Blauer Reiter (Blue Rider) group.
He became famous as a painter, stage and stained glass designer and
print-maker. He fled the Nazis, settling in Holland where he was a
professor at the Academy of Fine Arts
