Default Ribber Jamming

Oh Great! Now my ribber is jamming. It worked just the other day
when we used it on a scarf. Now, it is jamming on the second needle
as it makes the return pass going Right to Left. Any ideas why this
would happen? Ideas how to fix it?

Is the sponge bar on the main bed OK
Does it hold the needles onto the bed so that the number strip doesn't
move about?

How would I know if my sponge bar needs replacing? It still knits
regular just fine. Is this something my technically dabbling hubby
can do with some direction? Where do I get a new one. How much do
they cost...etc? Or better yet...do they still make them?
And, do they die from old age....because I havn't even used mine in 10
years?

Hi David,
Just wanted to let you know it WAS the sponge bar. I replaced it
yesterday. I had NEVER done that. I owned the machine for 8 years-
rarely used it so didn't know it needed replacing. Anyway, thanks for
the "heads-up" on that one....it got my project back on it's feet!!!!
