Advice please about cotton terry or velour

i'm trying to find that REALLY plush, thick, heavyweight turkish
cotton--the same kind they make those great fancy-hotel robes with...
i've tried searching the net and the specialty fabric stores nearby
but no luck...

anyone have anywhere else i can look? thanks

You could try searching for Egyptian cotton towelling - the Egyptian stuff
is the really thick and luxurious kind. I've never seen it as yard goods,
but presumably it must be produced this way by someone?

In the past, I've also quilted two layers of thin towelling together for a
nicer feel.

Search for "Cannon Toweling". I know http://www.bighornquilts.com used to
have it, but I am not sure if they still carry it. Very thick heavy stuff,
and it's soft, too, if you don't abuse it like I do ;o)
