Default Computer trouble!

computer has been freezing up, so don't have long.. but we know the trouble
one of two the memory sticks is bad. (dual channel)

luck we go it up and on the net, for the last few days..
since Sunday) could not get it past boot up screen. under lifetime
warranty.. bad news going to take 3 weeks before we get the new in.. ( worse
news is that we have to send back our memory before they will send new)
leaving is without anything until then.

DH's job.. most people will be out the door in Jan.. good news Dh will get
to stay on to run a new part.. so looks like 4-5 more months( he will live
in Dallas) once Sherman's plant is closed, and work in the Dallas plant..
Other news, not buying the house. made up our minds over the long weekend.
Job opening in Montana he may check into that and we all MOVE..
anyone know the cost of living in that state?

this is a website that lets you compare the cost of living in various
states. maybe it will help! according to this website that $100,000 in
Dallas need only be replaced by $85,000 in Montana to live the same
lifestyle! Good News!

Christina, where does your DH work? A friend of mine was just laid off
from Frito Lay in Dallas.

As to the cost of living, I've been told that making $100,000 in Oregon
is like making $54,000 here. Can you imagine making $100,000 in a
place where the cost of living is only half of what it is elsewhere? I
know it is a lot cheaper to live here than in Oregon (I paid a third as
much to rent a house that was bigger than the apartment I left in
Oregon.)

What does your DH do? I think they are opening either a Lowe's or a
Home Depot in Chillicothe soon.

No one ever said Oregon was a cheap place to live but we found more
expensive when we considered relocation.

Yeah, I was playing around with the salary thing and believe it or not,
Kirksville (about an hour from here) is more expensive than Beaverton,
Oregon. Trenton wasn't listed in the choices so I couldn't confirm
what I think might be reliable information. I know it's way cheaper
here than there but honestly can't tell you by how much now. I checked
as many cities as I could that are relatively close, and none were as
cheap as I said earlier, but most were at least a little less. I think
it said making $100,000 in Beaverton would make you need around
$117,000 in Kirksville. Yeouch!

Tigg (who doesn't make even 1/10th of either of those and manages to
make ends meet...there's nothing left to tie them together, but they've
been meeting.)

we don't make that much, and are not going to go up there, too cold!!
I wish we did make that much,
looks like we will have to pay for an appt for him to live in while working,
and pay for our trailer up here..

I am not going to move down, we have DD in collage up here, which ties her
to Okla. and I have a 8th grader in school here. plus our two dogs.

we done it before, and we can do it again.. either he will come home on the
weekends or I will go down.

Thanks for that link, Kate. We'll be moving within a year or so and this is
one more tool to help us track down possible places to settle. After 20+
years of Uncle Sam taking care of our choice of residence, it is hard to
decide where to live.
