Default OT/Pear 'Honey' Recipe Needed from one of you Texas Cooks

Help, help! I've lost my MIL's recipe for Pear Honey! It is a soft
fruit jam--very plain, no bells and whistles, pear-tasting, honey-brown,
medium in color, the best pear preserves I've ever tasted.
MIL was a Texas cook, and I've never seen this recipe elsewhere, so I
am hoping one of you Texas quilters/cooks can help me out. I've had this
huge pot of pears simmering for three days, as I frantically dig through
my recipe files. (Yes, I have _that_ many recipe books!) I must have put
this recipe in a very safe place...TIA, Cea
