Default Drinking Straw Peyote Necklace tutorial

Linda, how is Tucker coming along. Hope you got that bill paid. It just
about broke my heart to see you sell your beautiful things for so little.

Bead and Button has a wonderful tutorial (pdf) on their site for peyote
stitching around those hard plastic curly drinking straws. I might just
give this one a try in my spare minutes.

Shirley, I don't recognize those straws. (I don't use straws). I also
don't know that I'd trust plastic straws to last on something labour
intensive. I think it would be cool to make that using some scrap copper
tube that I have though. I think what I have was intended in some sort of
engine. Maybe you have some scrap tubing that would be a better material in
the first place.

I would like to try that but have been unable to find the drinking
straws.
Maybe they are another USA thing. Or just not around where I live.
I find it frustrating to see lovely designs in B+B then cannot do them
because the components are not available here in UK.

Hey Tina don't you think that the copper wire would turn your bead
work if it was won't a lot. I know that the acids from the body will
do that so I would use the straw it's light weight and bendable. I do
peyote stitch all the time this sounds like a great idea.

Oh, thank you so much for asking, Tina. ))) Tucker is doing just fine
now. He doesn't even walk with a limp anymore. I am totally surprised
because when I saw the xray of his leg, it was just shattered... a
lengthwise jagged break with bits of bone everywhere. But his screws,
wires, pins and whatnot are holding together well. I just pray everything
holds up over the years.

Yes, to the heartbreak over selling my jewelry and beads for so little. I
try not to dwell on it. I just count myself lucky that I had the resources
to earn money to pay off his bill.
