There's a huge groundswell in Oz to brand every 'environmentalist' as a rabid
'greenie' who has only political agendas at heart and cares more about trees

understand why it's important and might *do* more to assist. Don't you think?

I think that a balance ought to be struck between the two extremes and
that neither are prudent.

Advertising plays to people's selfishness and laziness. If you impede
someone's desire to have that big SUV, or impede a business's desire to make
big bucks, regardless of the cost to the environment, immense resistance and
denial will ensue.

There's no hope. Bring on the asteroid. ;-)

Oh, yeah. Every time I see some new convenience product on TV, I wonder what
we're coming to. I'm happy that there is such a thing as bagged salad, but
honestly, most of the junk in the supermarket is not even really food. I mean,
macaroni and "cheese" as an after-school snack? No wonder kids are so fat in
this country.

I'm sorry, this whol topic has caused me to rant unnecessarily. I'll shut up
now, I promise!

Anybody sewing anything? LOL
