I saw this on the goldfish newsgroup! and thank you Gunther!
is it for real - I have no clue!

I've ordered some extra sensitive recording equipment
for my own research in this area, and suggest we, as a
group, help BWilson to uncover the true purpose(s) of
this phenomenon. My own suggestions depend on resolution
of a related question, namely: how do they smell?

Mostly it finds me - many of my e-pals are as completely off the wall as I
am . Gunther on rec.aquaria.freshwater.goldfish posted it/
