Making a graph in Photoshop
Hey, stitchers,
I just found this. It's a FREE download. One of the folks at Knitter's magazine, David Xenakis, has put together a wonderful article. It tells you in detail how to make a REALLY GOOD chart from a photo, using Adobe Photoshop. It is a PDF file, so you'll need Adobe to read it. And you'll find it 3/4 of the way down this HUGE page, which takes forever to load. But it's well worth the wait. http://www.knittinguniverse.com/xrx/booksresults.asp Highlights: suggestions as to picking a photo controlling grid size Making part of the grid black (for over light colors) and part of it white (over dark) adding symbols to help tell similar colors apart !!! Pretty cool, what? Now if I can just learn to count my stitches... Ruthie the new embroiderer, old knitter |
