Default OT Recipe- chocolate cake mix+cherry pie filling???

I "think" I saw a recipe on here where you used a chocolate cake mix and a
can of cherry pie filling, mix it together and bake. There were no other
ingredients, if I remember correctly???

Did I remember correctly?

TIA

I found this with a quick search Leslie:

I don't remember a cherry/chocolate cake recipe but maybe
the op will if they are still around.

Sounds like a mixed up Black Forest Gateau?
I've used a chocolate cake mix, and sliced it in three and put the
cherry pie filling between the slices, with cream on top. I've never
mixed them, but you can always try!

I am just Certain that Paula Deen would want you to add a stick of butter.
I declare that woman must add a stick of butter to a mint julep. I don't
strain myself with major effort but when I use this sort of quick cake, I
sift the cake mix. It seems to me that cake mixes are stored somewhere in
the desert in Arizona a few years before they're shipped to us. I melt the
butter (actually, Blue Bonnet margarine) in the microwave, stir the mix and
butter together and drop blobs of the mixture on top of the pie filling.
When I'm using a plain yellow cake mix, I add a tiny bit (about ½ teaspoon)
of almond flavoring. To make this creation really pretty, I sprinkle on
some large flake sugar to give it a bit of bling. Polly

Leslie,

This one takes a yellow cake mix and cherry pie filling, and it is
really good. It got a very enthusiastic response from my needlearts guild.

I suppose you could try it with a chocolate mix, instead of yellow. Can't
go too far wrong, I would think.

Gee I just gained 5 pounds reading it. Sitting here, after a not-so-
satisfactory trip to Michael's, this sounds like a good meal for
me )
