Default Washing a new quilt

With my challenge quilt due tomorrow night, I just made it! Finished
the binding this morning, then bunged the quilt in the washer (I
always do that, + needed to get pin holes out).

However, my dryer is in strike (and knowing my appartment complex, it
will not be fixed in time for this quilt) - normally I just dry the
quilt nearly dry in there then air it for the rest. So I laid out
towels on the floor (outside drying not an option) then a clean,
nun-fluffy sheet, then I laid the wet quilt out on top, patted it into
shape and ran off to work. However, it looked very creased.

When I use the tumbledryer, the quilts are not usually very creased at
the end, but this looked like it might be. What do I do now? Shake it
regularly during drying? Take it to the laundromat for drying? Or
what???

Please not this is a brand new, all machine (except the biding to the
back, sleeve + label) as of yet very sturdy quilt, so I don't think
I'm mistreating it too badly. I just want it to look its best.

Thanks,
Hanne

H: Depending on the batting, a VERY LIGHT pressing might help.
Pretty hot temp, but gentle touch. I often 'finish' a WH with a
pressing.
My quilt, for same guild challenge *still* needs binding! ACK!
See ya at the meeting in Hampton.

The batting is Warm and Natural, top is all Kona cotton, the back some
other cotton.

It is not _quite_ as bad as I feared, but still bad. But I think that
is because there is a lot of solid white in this quilt, and that shows
even the smallest crease as a shadow. I never had any white in a quilt
before.

I might try a light pressing, then again I might not have time between
work and the guild meeting. Happy binding, Pat!
