Default water soluble flux, etc.

Is it possible to make my own water-soluble flux?

I really don't want to use the paste flux and I'm not sure I can get
the liquid stuff sent here.

And while I'm asking...what about pewter patina? Is anyone making it
themselves?

Thanks,

Arlene
