Suggestions wanted for cavorting gecko quilt
I'd love to hear super simple quilt pattern suggestions for how to use
four yards of gecko fabric that was given to me by my brother recently. The finished quilt will probably be given back to my brother because it was originally gifted to him by a dear friend, so begging will get you nowhere. So far I'm thinking quick Bar Quilt, Stack and Slash blocks, or maybe Stack and Whack 4 Patches. Any other suggestions? Here is a photo of the fabric: http://www.flickr.com/photos/designsbydeb/2859942702/ Thanks for your ideas! Warm Wishes has squares in it that would showcase the geckos without
chopping them all up and it goes together quickly and easily. Stack & Whack variations would be really cool, but it's NOT a quickie method- compared to the others you mentioned. This unique print has some really great possibilities! Have a blast with it! Leslie & The Furbabies in MO. "Debra" wrote in message ... What wonderful fabric! (Am I allowed to beg for scraps?) You could
make a FPP lizard or gecko, there must be a design out there someplace, and use it as a center medallion surrounded by S&W blocks. Suggestions wanted for cavorting gecko quilt
Snowball and Nine Patch?? Quick, and easy and would showcase the gecko
fabric. I'd use fairly large squares of the fabric, use red for the corners for the snowballs, same red and a blue or olivey green, for the nine patches. It goes fast and is fun. G I have that same print on a different color background to make DH a shirt. Leslie & The Furbabies in MO. I know the Stack & Whack would take longer, but it has such cool possibilities that I think it would be worth the extra time. I might use Photoshop to see what would happen with the print before I cut the fabric. These are not colors I normally use either, so I have to buy anything I use with it. Using it as part of the top will mean less yardage has to be bought because I do have a cream fabric I can use for a backing. I can whip up a quickie sketch. Debra in VA See my quilts at: http://community.webshots.com/user/debplayshere http://www.flickr.com/photos/designsbydeb/ |

I was going to suggest that too. You can get some really interesting
patterns going through on the 9 patches. If you Google using Images rather than Web, (listed in the strip above the coloured Google) and then type in Snowball and Nine Patch Quilts, you get lots of images to inspire you.
