I am looking for a specific cross stitch chart that has the words

"Pleasant
words are like a honeycomb...sweetness to the soul and health to the body.
Proverbs 16:24"

This chart has a garden in the center with a wide border of bees,

honeycomb,
and flowers around the outside. The first part of the quote is above the
garden and the second part is below. The garden is divided into four
sections with a path paved with grey stones in between each section. The
path forms a circled cross, with an old-fashioned hive right in the

middle.
This chart dates back to possibly the early 1980s.

If you have this chart or know where I can find it, I would be forever
grateful. If it was a kit and you still have the instructions, that would

be
fine too. Thank you very much!

Marina

I have it if you're still looking. "Gathering Honey" by Cross Stictch and
Country Crafts. It's lovely and I really enjoyed doing it.

Remove the "nospam" to contact me direct.

Me too, whaddya know! That one's in the breakfast nook. Did you do it
as a tryptich or all as one piece? Mine's in three frames.

It shared an issue with a segment of "Amid Amish Life," which was *my*
first project on Lugana.

Yes, it was on the cover and yes, it was designed by Sandy Orton (one
of my very favorite designers). The issue it was in was from about
mid-1986. I stitched it in 1988 and it was the first thing I ever did
on linen...it's in my dining room now. :-))) Hope you have a great
time stitching it - it's soooo pretty. Paula B.

I have done two of her pieces, Pageant Kings, and Garden of Kindness
(aka Metallic Thread Sampler). I have her Silk Sampler (Le Jardin, I
think it was called) from Just Cross Stitch kitted up to do. Besides the
honey sampler, have you done any other pieces by her?

Elizabeth

I did the little colonial sampler that was on the cover of CS&CC a few
months later. It was in a clock on the magazine but I just framed
mine. It's in the bedroom. I did the gorgeous wedding sampler that
was before the honey sampler on the cover of the mag that she designed
for someone on their staff, for my DH's sister in 1993. I did one
that had a cornucopeia (sp.?) for some friends that was in a Leisure
Arts book...I would like to do that one for myself. I know there are
others but I'm blank right now! I've seen the Garden of Kindness one
stitched and it's just gorgeous!! (And of course I have both of those
in my stash). Oh, I did the American Sampler from Treasures, too, in
1994. That was the first time I won best of show at a needlework show
- how could I forget that?! There's a Yahoo group that's doing a SAL
of that one right now. I really want to do the Spanish and English
and Dutch ones in that series. She is just soooo good! I saw
something new of hers recently (can't remember what, though!) and it
was spectacular. Paula B.

Mine's one big one, Paula. And, I'm embarrassed to admit, still
awaiting the long stitches--the reins, wheel spokes...a pittance,
really! But it's done enough that I signed it (1988).

Do it! It won't take but one evening, most likely, and the charts are
good. I want to hear that you did it before New Year's (nothing like
a little guilt, eh? And of course I have - ahem - just a few WIPs
myself!!).
:-))) Paula B.
