Default Speaking of feet..

have any of you tried a foot for SITD binding.

I've been looking for a hopping for for my Brother 1500S and came
across this foot.

Martelli Zip Bind System and Stitch-n-Ditch Binder Foot

Claims to give you a good looking binding on "the other side".

Suppose to fit all kinds of machines whether low or high shank,
including Bernina's, and the machines like the Juki 98, Brother 1500s
and the Janome series of 9 inch throat machines.

I find gadgets of all kinds almost irresistible so I
recently got one. Unfortunately I haven't had it long
enough to try it out. But I will happily report back when I
do.

It looks complicated - maybe that's why I have put off
trying it lol

Hi Kate - I hadn't heard about this particular binding foot so I
googled it!
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp...=519310&T=8877 I followed
links from the Martelli info page and found an instruction document
which explained it all but also this link to a video demonstration. I
hope that this helps you decide whether you want to give it a try.
Bernina machines do also need the purchase of adaptor foot from
Bernina but it seems that the kit contains the required attachments
for other machines. I don't know how fiddlely it will turn out to be
in 'real life' and the corners have to be handstitched when everything
else is finished (a 10" length of thread is left at each corner
section for this purpose) and the video also doesn't mention how the
ends of the binding are joined - probably needs hand work too.
