Default Tunisian/Afghan Crochet Question

I used my Easy Tunisian Crochet hooks for the first time to make a
scarf. Everything came out well EXCEPT the left edge which looks
crappy.

Any tricks or tips?

How do you mean, 'crappy'? If it's just loose, be extra sure to
yank it tight. If it's something about how the stitch is formed,
and it's just like the others but shows because it's on the edge,
then it might help to single crochet along the entire edge (both
edges).

Did you just take up one loop like the others, or did you pick up the regular
loop plus the ridge behind the stitch?

Doing it this way makes the left edge look as if there was a chain stitch going
up the side, but there are no loose loops. Frances
