I'm working on another tam. I finally blocked the others and that
really brings out the designs. I'm using a smaller needle on the
current one to try to see how that works out.

I WANT a tam pattern, but a very specific one. You know
those two-colour candy - usually white and some other
colour? THey are like circles, with stripes going from the
centre out or vice versa. The other day, while looking out
of my window, I saw a woman walk by and she was wearing
one of them. It looked great, and I really want to knit one,
but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it. I don't
know if I should do intarsia or fair isle.
I am finishing Kaegan's hat - the hat itself is done, but I need
to crochet around the edge of it.

Katherine

Gorgeous, BB. Did you see my post looking for a particular
tam pattern? If you come across one like that, I'd love to
hear about it.

I found a picture of a tam, (much the same type as BB's beautiful ones),
and the knitter said she had used a basic pattern and worked from that.

I also found a beret pattern, called a purled tam/beret (is there any
big difference? I don't know) It was knitted in stockinette, but turned
inside out. May be it could be used as a basic pattern?

I also found other free patterns for berets or tams, but they didn't
have any picture, and since there are so many types, from stright round
tams to "cream cake"- berets, I don't take the risk! LOL!

I finished the We Call Them Pirates skull cap this morning. It was a
lot of fun to knit. This link also shows my cabled cardigan
blocking. I'm trying not to use up my Flickr allowance, so I'm
showing you these pics through my blog. I hope you don't mind:
