Color - finally
I had a 3 hr class at the LYS last night (it was supposed to be for 2, but
the owner let us keep going) making winter headbands in two colors, and I think I finally have the hang of it! All the instructions, and the books, but for some reason I just needed someone there in front of me to actually show me before it would "click". My biggest problems, now corrected, were that I was very inconsistent with which yarn was over and under, and I also had problems with the tension too tight between color changes, resulting in puckering. And I had been twisting the yarn with every color change. The instructor was wearing this GORGEOUS fair-isle sweater that she had done herself, and that alone was inspirational! She said it was an Alice Starmore pattern, which I had not heard of, but she said she loved it because even though there are over a dozen colors in it, it wasn't as difficult as it might seem because there were never more than two color changes in a row. It was really stunning. I was just happy with my headband. Karen in MN |

Hi Karen,
I loved knitting with more than one color and once you get the hang of it, it goes right along fast. That might one reason I enjoy counted cross stitch so much too, so many colors. Hugs, Nora |
