Default recommendating for magnifying lamp

I have a Visual Mate LM747 and *love it*!! This one:
http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/071919.html But it's about 10
years old, and a few years ago, it wouldn't turn on, my DH had to
replace the switch. It worked for a while, but now it's starting to
not go on when I flip the switch, it takes 10 or 12 tries to get it to
turn on. So I'm thinking it's time to replace it.

But I can't find it locally at any retail stores in the western sububs
of Chicago. I have no LNSs around me, only Michael's and Joanne's and
Hobby Lobby. And I got a $50 gift card for Michael's at Xmas, so, of
course, I went there first. They don't have it, only have Ott
Lights. And I don't want an Ott light. At least, I don't think so.

Can anyone recommend a suitable light similar to the Visual Mate LM747
that will hang from around my neck, have a wide, 3X magnifying lens,
and a bright light? I don't have anything to clamp an Ott light to in
my stitching area, I don't have floor space for a free-standing one.
And the ones that clip onto the embroidery hoop are too tiny, both the
lights and the magnifying lens. Dazors don't seem to fit the bill
either.

Any other ideas?

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Why not just order that one since it is the one you want??

I was wondering if there is a different one that I should be looking
for at a retail store to buy it locally, rather than having it
shipped. I don't know what the other options are, besides Ott and
Dazor. Those are the only ones I've heard of, I don't know if there
are any others.

I just noticed the subject line in my original posting: what is
"recommendating"???? I'm glad you knew what I meant, Cathy! Thanks!

Audrey, try checking the Nordic Needle catalog at nordicneedle.com.
They have the older and the newer versions of the visual mate.
