Christmas shopping, anyone?

I can get this on topic but I'm going to wander off since it's astounding
and delightful the hefty range of knowledge here.
If you want to save postage and give yourself some nice fabric, Arizona
Quilts is holding the Polly Esther 2011 record for stuffing the most in a
'if it fits, it ships' box. They are really, Really good. I would like to
go watch them and appreciate their concern for my needy babies budget.
Help me here. Moma used to give all her children a pound box of Brach's
Chocolate Covered cherries. All I can find now is a 'pitiful' box of nine
in a 6 oz box. That would make anyone wanting to wallow in them until next
Christmas just sit down and cry. You're supposed to eat 'just one more'
until you don't crave another bite. AND ! they've decided to 'improve' the
chocolate. I don't want improved. Any help?
Next. I 'think' I and my daughters would love to have horn wide tooth
combs for combing out long wet hair. I suspect the cheap plastic ones we
have are guilty of cutting and damage. Anyone here ever been brave enough
to spend $40 for a horn ( or something else like maybe wood) comb?
Can you stand one more question? It seems like my embroidery machine
might do better with a #90 needle. I did labels for 2 Wounded Warrior
quilts last night and the #75 seemed to need help. It was a Get it Done
project but wasn't special. Polly

Can't help you much unless you want to come over here. Then I could
probably solve all your problems (except for the needle). There's a
wonderful tiny shop in the center of Munich that sells nothing but
combs, brushes, shaving brushes, widgets for cleaning hairs out of
brushes... you get the idea. Dog brushes? Nope. Clothes brushes? Nope.
They are specialists. and they do sell some lovely combs. With a side
line in hair oil and shaving soap.

I can't offer any advice (although I may be visiting Arizona Quilts
online later today!), but the memories of Brach's Chocolate Covered
Cherries are near and dear. Grandma used to give a box to each
grandchild at Christmas. But that wasn't all! She found a way to
magically put a ten dollar bill in each box - between the cellophane
wrapper and the box. I never did find the opening in the cellophane that
would give me a clue as to how she had done it.

It's a good thing our DDIL doesn't have a criminal inclination. I declare
that rascal can open 'anything' and restore it to pristine condition.
Snooping under the Christmas tree is one of her favorite indoor sports.

i for one would probably spend 40- on a comb it i thought it was going
to be used....is there a good brush you would recommend? my daughter
has gorgous long thick red hair. and heck, you should see what i've
spent on HORSE grooming supplies g.

i'm sorry i can't help on the chocolate covered cherries. I will keep
my eyes out for you!

In my very younger days. Up to 2002 my red hair was below my waist,
for most of my life. I would have to look everywhere for a good
strong handled brush for my thick locks. I always found those with
wooden handles worked the best. I went through the plastic ones like
going through a box of chocolates.

I had to cut off my long locks. A recommendation from my physican. I
had to go through a battery of tests including MRI, CAT and PET
scans. The doctor was afraid my hair would get caught up in the
machinery and I would get scalped. Hair brushes that are durable are
extremely hard to find. Walmart would not carry such an item.

As for the chocolate covered cherries. My son loves those things. I
have to buy him several boxes every year for Christmas. its become a
tradition thing.

One product I found that helps with the tangled mess after washing the
hair, is Infusium 123. A comb just slids through the hair. It does
not have to be washed out and makes red hair shine like a new copper
penny. And no I am not affiliated with the manufacturer of the
product. just a satisified customer.

Polly, when I couldn't find 'specially good quality caramels for our
Pat on her Green I learned how to make them. Have you tried making
chocolate covered cherries? I bet they would be as fantastic as my
caramels!
