quilt spotting

Good morning everyone!

My day already started 3 hours ago (and it's Saturday!!).

While waiting for the rest of the family to wake up, I'm playing
around on the computer. And I've had it with facebook games so I
thought of something else: how many of us can name tv series or movies
in which quilts are featured; they don't necessarily have to be the
theme or even mentioned at all; just that there are quilts visible.

Here's some I've come up with

How to Make an American Quilt (movie)
Sally Hemings: An American Scandal (movie)

Saw an episode of Hawaii 5-0 and caught a glimpse of -yes! a Hawaiian
quilt!

In her book, How Not to Make a Prize Winning Quilt, Ami Simms tells
about watching reruns of the Mary Tyler Moore show and seeing a quilt on
Rhoda & Joe's bed that she immediately sketched and planned to recreate.
There is a picture of it in the book, I think.

If I stop moving in front of the tv I fall asleep. I think we had a vcr
before
I saw the end of wizard of oz. Lonesome Dove has some quilts in it.
Not quilts but I watch for sewing machines and Three Amigos is the winner
on that one.

Over the River Kwaii and The Wizard of Oz . . . but that's about it. I
don't even know the name of my favorite movie but it's the one with Jimmy
Stewart and Grace Kelly where they investigate a murder from his window
while he's confined because of a broken leg. Love that movie.
So. I can't play in the quilt spotting with names but I do carefully
watch to see if a quilt appears and what its block pattern might be. Polly

The movie with Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly is one of my favorites too.
It's called "Rear Window."
I had a time remembering for sure which movie contained the scene I had in
mind, finally decided it had to be "My Favorite Wife." At the end there is a
scene with a beautiful quilt with hexagon flowers like in a Grandmother's
Flower Garden, only set in blocks with darker sashing in between. At least
that's how I remember it.
