Default Business Card Cases - I'd appreciate anyone's input

I'm about to place a large order for business card cases and there are
three general types I'm trying to decide between. If you have seen
my compact kits, I had them specially made for me with a recess on the
top to hold a piece of clay
(http://www.polymerclayprojects.com/compacts.htm). I was going to do
the same with the card cases - have a rectangular recess over most of
the top. The vendor felt that the recess might not work in the card
case because it was very thin to start with and so they made a very
thin metallic rectangular border, about 1/4" from the edge, all they
way around. So its not a recess - its just an area with a border to
lay the clay into on the top.
This would be option #1, in a very heavy duty, shiny silver case
(polished nickel).

The next option would be just to have the same heavy case, but without
the border. You'd just put clay wherever you want.

The final option is to order lighter, aluminum cases. These are not
so heavy and not at all shiny - more of a dull silver/grey type finish
I would only get these if people think they'd cover most of the
cases. The quality is good, but they aren't as heavy duty as the one
I mentioned above.

So what do folks prefer? Do people cover the entire case, top and
bottom, or just an area in the top. Is the border a waste of effort
tomake that way?

Any comments are appreciated.
