Default Memory Craft 6600 Professional Sewing & Quilting Machine- opinions?

I am seriously lusting after this sm.... but.... I have concerns about
the Accu-Feed system which is brand new for Janome on this model. Does
it *really* work as well as a walking foot or is it a poor, weak
substitute? I don't want to buy the machine and then be disappointed
when it can't pull the quilted sandwich and binding thru the machine.
I know I can try it out at my dealer's showroom, but the buying lust
might make me prejudiced in favor of it! VBG

Does anybody own one and what do you think about sewing on bulky
bindings, etc. with the Accu-Feed? TIA

I just got the 6600 in November and love it! I have had no trouble with the
walking foot, however, take a "sandwich" to your LQS and try it out. My LQS
owner is very friendly and informative and hopefully yours will be too. The
machine is their quilting model - and I love it for my quilting needs. I
love not having a foot pedal and can cut the thread with a push of the
button. You never have to worry about the machine coming unthreaded when you
start the next seam.

Good luck, but give it a try first.

It really works for me. I find it just as good as a regular old walking
foot but very quiet..no thunk, thunk sounds.

So nice to have the extra space for quilting too!
