An interesting aside to the true lover's knot is that one can think
of it as an inside-out Matthew Walker knot. If the two 'knot' parts
are interlinked as opposed to the two 'loop' parts it forms the
Matthew Walker.

That's the way I tie a Matthew Walker. Tie an overhand knot in one
rope, feed the other through it, tie an overhand knot around the other
overhand knot, and feed the end out through the exit of the first rope
from the first knot.
