Default linen help

I ordered, sampler 4 saisons by anagram diffusion.
http://www.wyndhamneedleworks.com/An..._4_saisons.htm
It uses only 2 dmc colors.... 498 and 712.

Any suggestions on fabric. It is only sold as a pattern in the US and
doesn't say what is used.
I went to the local shop today (not much to pick from) so I'm going to have
and try my hand at ordering something and hoping the 712 shows. yikes!!!!
TIA

Medium Gray. Pale blue. Maybe pale green. A darkish raw linen. If
you want it to really pop, a medium blue or green.

I just found this site:
http://www.craftsmensstudio.com/csinfo_LN.html. Click on the
different fabrics, and you'll find a page with (some) of the colors
that fabric comes in. It may help you pick a color...(the colors may
not be exact, but it'll give you an idea of the relative color
values.)

I would use Aida in ivory. off white or white that has been dipped in
weak tea. It is lovely in red - so old and antique looking.

Since it gives no recommendation, I'd first decide what count of fabric
I could stand to work with or how large I want the finished piece to be.
Did you ask your local shop if they have any swatch cards of fabrics
they don't keep in stock--things they might be willing to special order?
Then just grab a skein of 498 and one of 712 and toss them on the
different fabrics/swatches and see which makes the colors "pop" without
being obnoxious. The website sampler appears to be on a dove to medium
grey.

Alternatively, if there is a fabric you absolutely love but one or both
of the colors disappear or look hideous on it, you can always change the
floss colors. Navy and cream would look just as good together as the
dark red and cream. Have fun with it!

You could always try emailing the nice folks at
http://www.silkweaver.com/ - they have always been right on with
suggestions for me. I tell them the pattern I want to use, the count and
the DMC colours involved. I give my concerns with some colour choices
and why, then I wait to see what they say. They are always very helpful
and give reasons for their suggestions. I've loved every choice they've
made so far.

I saw it made on raw linen. It was hanging in a french shop in Annecy where
they had really a lot of things made on this fabric. To me it looked just
right. Natural. The shop is: www.merceriecatherineb.com. An absolutely
stunning shop run by two fabulous ladies. If you ever go to France.... I
recommend it.

I see from your posting that your ordered it from Wyndham Needleworks. Lydia
is so good with picking colors etc that I would e-mail her and tell you what
type of fabric you want (aida, evenweave or linen) and what count and ask for
suggestions. She has fabric also and you might get something really pretty
with your stitching. She has picked fabric for me and I have been delighted.

I have this pattern in my stash. I ordered it from Wyndham a few months ago.
I also have a couple other of their patterns. They are absolutely beautiful.

However, I'm not sure that I will be using the floss that is recommended. I am
considering changing the floss colors and do it in silk. Probably Vicki
Clayton's silks.

I have a beautiful hand dyed piece of fabric that is a tan with a red cast to
it. I say just do whatever YOU like. That is what is so nice about these
designs.

What Anagram do you have? I have Anagram "Saisons" almost finished using
Gloriana silks - different color for each season. Then at CAT's I got the
latest "12 month Calendar" and will use Gloriana Silks - a different color
for each month.
