That's great Sandi!

Here is the link to the mini RR. I loved the swap, it pushed me
creatively, but it was really hard for me that not everyone got their
center back.

Kristie,
Let Melissa know. She might have an updated directory and could get in
touch with her for you. I'd almost given up hope and they arrived
unexpectedly.

What a surprise I got tonight when I checked my mail. I had a package

from
Sue in Winnipeg with both Lizzy Taylor's and my mini round robins!

What delightful tops they are, I can't wait to sandwich and start
quilting
on mine. Lizzy, I'll try and get my borders on quickly and get it for
you
for an early Christmas present.

Melissa, do you still have the WebPages up with the pictures of the other
groups? I don't think I have it bookmarked and would like to send you a
picture if it is still up and running.

Thanks to everyone in my group,Lizzy in England, Helen in England,

Michelle
Pope in Newfoundland, and Sue Bewick in Winnipeg, well done ladies.

Thanks Marissa

I've been busy with being on the guild executive and attending both day and
evening meetings. Haven't been reading much, hope to catch up again after
my Ruth McDowell workshop and then in November Mary Lou Weidman.

Oh Kristie!

You're center was so pretty! I think I took a photo of the round
afterwards - if I can find it would you like a copy?

I will look for it - my digital photos are woefully un-organized, so it
will take some time, but it's on my list and I'll let you know if I
find it or I think it is lost.

Best,
NS

I hate to sound so clueless, but how does a round-robin work? Can
someone explain?

Really quick and basic explaination - you design the centre panel and pass
it on to successive quilters, who all add a border. You - in turn - get
each of their quilts (in various stages of construction) to add a border.
So you will add the first border to someone else's quilt in stage one, the
second border to a different quilt in stage two, and so on. Eventually your
centre panel comes back to you with the appropriate number of borders added.

It is usual to agree a time frame for each stage - maybe pass work to next
person on the list on the first Monday of five successive months, or maybe
take eight weeks from receipt. Many also include some fabric with their
centre panel to be worked into the borders. There are variations of course.
But this is a group activity that is best undertaken only after everyone has
agreed to all the "rules" for the RR - maybe with a "quilter's contract"
(written guidelines for a group quilt). For example, I have taken part in
RRs where being late cost the tardy a fatqtr for each other member of the RR
group - an excellent incentive (LOL)

Point is - you finish with a quilt that has been made by a group of friends
and that will be a complete surprise to you.

There are links in current threads to show RRs that have been made thru RCTQ

You will have gathered from ongoing threads here that it can be "upsetting"
when participants fail to keep to their agreement to undertake a Round
Robin, particularly when this is without any explaination to other
participants..

I love the idea of having the FQ or FE penalty for being late! In a yahoo
group that I'm a member of, we all wanted to do a RR but because some of the
members that were wanting to participate were known for being late and
others had had problems with their RR's never showing up again, we decided
not to do the robin :-( Sometimes lateness cannot be helped but normally
the only excuse would be hospitalization. What a great idea!
