Default A stitchy question

Years ago there was a company where you send in a picture and they turn
it into a cs pattern. Does anyone know what the company was and if
they're still in business? Of any other suggestions? My DSis is
looking to do one of her new grandson.

TIA!!!

There are software programs that do the same thing. I have PC Stitch &
have converted several photos to xs patterns. You do have to work
through it a bit after conversion - you end up with several colors
that are only used for a couple of stitches. After the stitching's
done though, it's amazing how close it is to the original.

For a retirement gift for one of my surveyors, I converted & stitched
a photo of their much-loved dog who had recently died. He & his wife
both cried when they saw the finished product, it was so real.
