Default Cotton Quilt Batting

I am making a table runner. I got some cotton quilt batting somewhere, don't
know where and it is wrinkled. Is there a way to get some of the wrinkles
out or is that how it is supposed to be? I plan on machine quilting it.

Put it in the dryer on "no heat" setting for about 15 minutes.

I use the dryer, but I also will sprinkle it generously with water and
do use heat so that it will shrink now rather than later, after it's
quilted.

Put the placemat backing fabric or any piece of fabric on top of the batting
and turn the iron on hot and steam and press away ... if you use the backing
fabric for your placemat or quilt then the fabric will tend to slightly
stick to the batting. If you are making a large quilt this does, of course,
become sort of unwieldy unless you have a large flat surface you can iron on
.... and of course try real hard not to let the iron get ahead of you and
land directly on the batting :-) If the backing and top fabric are prints
and the batting is not really really wrinkled you can just smooth it out by
hand and go for it, especially if you heavily machine quilt.
