Think pink, please!
Lots of positive labour-vibes to your daughter in law. If this baby is
anything like mine she will wait until 24 hours before the induction appointment to put in an appearance! Castor oil - yuk. The theory that giving yourself the runs starts labour doesn't really work. I tried everything to make Iona arrive earlier and it's true what they say, babies arrive when they're good and ready. Morag "AliceW" wrote in message ... Well, I finished another quilt for my grand daughter who will arrive this week whether she wants to or not, apparently. She was due on the 9th and the doctor will induce on Wednesday if nothing happens on it's own by then. I think they are trying castor oil today so if labor starts today, the little lady could be here by sometime tomorrow. So, if you have a few spare moments, think pink! She really doesn't want to be induced, but is ready for either alternative. We're just all hoping for a safe, short labor and delivery! -- Alice in NJ, Royal Cybrarian http://www.ourcyberfamily.us/ "Just about the time a woman thinks her work is done, she becomes a grandmother." Yuck. Just what you want when pushing....a greasy intestinal tract! Ugh! Perhaps a little sublingual or buccal Pitosin. Did the trick for me! I don't really understand why she doesn't want to be induced. It's time for DGD debut! "SNIGDIBBLY" wrote... OMG!! Castor Oil doesn't work! And it's not good for anyone. Just makes an already sick and tired mom - more sick and tired. Don't let them do that to her. |

She was admitted to the hospital this morning after having contractions
through the night, but nothing to scream about (no pun intended). They started a pitocin drip and waited. Contractions got a bit stronger but not enough so they broke her water around noon. Last update from my son was that they had given her some pain meds and she was sleeping. He had gone home to feed the cats and have a sandwich and change clothes. He was assuming it was going to be along night. I am hoping they don't have to do a C-section, but we're just waiting right now....and waiting.....and waiting......and waiting some more. -- Alice in NJ, Royal Cybrarian http://www.ourcyberfamily.us/ "Just about the time a woman thinks her work is done, she becomes a grandmother."
