So what do they look like, is there a favorite site to go to, then I can
take a look and see what it's about. Thanks, Carol In WI

Great to hear from you Carol.

I was wondering where my neighbor in WI has been.

This sight explains the function of a knitting sheath better than myself.

http://freespace.virgin.net/judy.pollitt/ksheaths.htm

It has several kinds of pictures of older sheaths. The two sheaths I
purchased from Aaron are in the site listed below. They are very simple
and more functional the most of the pictures you will see in museums and
such.

I am going to knit them for more elaborate sweater designs. They are no
easier on the Bond Sweater Machines than needles when you have to change
for stitch patters such as cables.

If you have any questions I believe Katherine is thinking about trying
the sheath out also, we are hoping it speeds our or larger knitting projects

Hugs & God bless,

Carol,

I hope this sight helps.

Can you imagine, at the turn of the last century trying to make a living
by knitting on a sheath. The school had the best idea of teaching it to
make a living.

Please let me know if I answered you question.

I can't believe that this method has lain dormant for so many years when
all of the articles talk about how it it more efficient as far as
tension and speed.

Maybe we can bring the sheath back from a long sheath. You will read
how the sheath attained a bad rep in this article and may be the reason
for it's demise.
