Hi All, I'm back
My nephew is now married and off on his honeymoon. The
wedding was quite nice and all the activities surrounding it were fun. We all stayed in Harrah's Casino in St Louis and had buses to take us to all the dinners and the ceremony and the reception afterward. When we weren't gambling we were seeing the sites. DH and I drove out, on the way we stopped to visit an old friend (we were neighbors in Panama 35 years ago). It was wonderful to see her and talk of old times - but it was amazing how much we still have in common. She is quilting now, her quilts are more art type than mine. They sure are lovely! She's building a new home in Florida and planning her quilt studio! Now I must get started on my list of "to do" things! -- Bonnie NJ |

Not so sure I approve of the gambling... ;D -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

Not so sure I approve of the gambling... ;D They have penny slot machines... you have the fun of playing at the machines - but no great risk of losing. I broke even, DH lost a little. There were no quilt shops nearby, I had to do something ;-) When we lived in Malta, my parents occasionally went to the Dragonara Hotel, where there was a casino. Mum would save up a fiver for the evening's entertainment, and stop when it was all gone. She reckoned to lose it all one in three visits, break even one in three (i.e, go home with the five quid), and make enough to pay for dinner one in three! She never spent more than her saved five quid plus dinner. She buys lotto tickets. I once asked her of she thought she could spend a really big win before we needed to screw her lid down. She grinned as only she can, and said, Probably not, but I'd have fun trying! Yay for mum, who is 75. -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

Gladys Taber (novelist and columnist) wrote that "Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off." Nann (whose list seems endless but who will never lack something to do) I do like that quote. My problem is that my list is rarely written down - it's all mental. If I wrote it down I'd only lose it! Come to think of it, I lose the mental list also;-) -- Bonnie NJ |
