Default Polly... Need good prayers

Yep, the patient 'marks the spot!' That's what I did for the Shoulder Issue
a few months back. I think that is standard practice now, at all hospitals.
I surely hope your surgery brought about a good outcome to that cancer,
Ginger. (Hugs.)

Yep, when I had the melanoma surgey last December 31st, the doctor and
I did that before I went in to the surgery suite. It wouldn't have
done any good to simply say "cut the arm with the butterfly tattoo",
since both wrists have one in roughly the same spot

Ginger in CA
yes, he saved the butterfly from being part of the cut.

I can agree. It took me months for the marker to wash off my big toe after
I had my surgery to insert the rod in my broken leg. It seemed funny at the
time to have the doc mark my toe since there was a HUGE cast on the rest of
the leg. But a nurse did come cut that off before I was rolled to surgery,
so I'm glad they had a way to mark which one was broken. (Like the swelling
wouldn't be enough of a marker!) :-)

Your idea with marker though, really good and I've heard of even a dr
doing that. He was to have surgery on his leg. So he wrote on the one
that was not to be touched "Not this leg" the other leg he wrote, "Cut
this leg" And yes I would consider it if I was going in for major surgery
I would write it on my arm so they wouldn't forget. It doesn't hurt and
it will wash off eventually. I think dr's should do this before they
wheel you down the hall.

Actually, all 3 joint surgeries I've had, the doctor has either done this
when he spoke to me before being prepped, or handed me the pen to do it
myself.

Cheers
Anne

I'm due sept 4 with this surrogate baby but I don't think he's going to

I would really like some prayers for a normal delivery and quick
recovery. I'm worried about baby coming too fast because this is baby #8
and that my thyroid will crash afterwards. Leaving me struggling just to
cope with the basics in life till it straightens out.
Thanx for reading if you got this far.
I'll post after the event. Everyone is on stand by on pins and needles
right now.

it's called "time out procedure" here at our hospital. they won't let
you in the theatre without
asking you and marking the spot.
