"Katherine" wrote in message oups.com... I've picked up a Flickr account in anticipation of Ravelry and have posted a few pictures just to try it out. However, I don't like their 200 pic limit on the free account, so will only use Flickr for my Ravelry pictures. Am thinking of trying Picasa for on-line photo albums, since Yahoo is closing down on October 18th. I'm just glad I only used Yahoo so others could see my pics, and not as a true storage facility. I have over 1,000 pics in my Flickr account so far, Shelagh. Higs, Katherine From what I understand on the free account they only display the 200 most recent pictures. Your other ones are still there, but I'm not sure how you access them. Picasa has pretty much unlimited storage, and so far, it's free. Interesting. I have had no trouble seeing all my pictures, and I won't complain until I do. g I also have a Photobucket account, which seems fine, too. Higs, Katherine |

Absolutely, I don't see Ravelry as competition for established communities. Obviously none of us yet have access to be able to give a full account of the service but I certainly view it as an *additional* resource, not a one-stop-shop for my online knitting needs. I've signed up because I'm keen to see it and judge it for myself - it may or may not suit me. I've heard plenty of positive things about it though so I'm approaching it in a positive frame of mind. VP Ok, now I'm curious. Do my posts not show up in some places? I have wondered at times if that's the case, or if there are other reasons I get little response to my posts. I've practically stopped posting because of it. VP, this is not directed at you specifically, but your post said nobody has access to Ravelry after I posted today that I have joined, so I thought it was a good time to see if I could find out. BB, I access newsgroups through Google, which is far from satisfactory. There are times when I miss bits of threads or even whole threads. So if I seem not to reply, blame Google. g Higs, Katherine |

I used to have good audio retention of some of my favorite symphonies and used to "play" them in my head when I was commuting. That was in the 70s and early 80s before portable audio was so easy. -- Every job is a self-portrait of the person who does it. Autograph your work with excellence. |
