Help w/viking 545
Hi folks. I was trying to put the walking foot on today and I can't get the
screw to take. the walking foot puts more distance to the shaft than that normal foot-holder-thingy, leading me to believe that the tip of the screw may be stripped? any thoughts on that? I can get the normal foot-holder-thingy screwed in just fine. Or might the strippage be in the receptor hole on the shaft? TIA -- Laura Bartl http://mywebpages.comcast.net/laurabartl/index.htm (piecing but not quilting...) |

Are you seeing the tip of the screw at the other side? (Is it actually going
all the way through?) Is it possible that the screw you're using is too short? My walking foot came with its own screw, and its threaded area, I believe, is longer than the others. --Heidi |

Were you trying to use the one on the machine? -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

The walking foot has its own screw and needle clamp screw. Are you
using those or the ones for the regular ankle? Maureen Laura Bartl wrote: Hi folks. On my Viking Rose, the walking foot came with a longer screw. Not much
longer, so I just use it all the time, even with the regular ankle bit. -- Wendy http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm de-fang email address to reply "Laura Bartl" wrote in message news Hi folks.
