Default Niemeyer pattern ?

I very much doubt it!
I do understand about the organising of small pieces of fabric - in
piles! I'm afraid my kitties never get the chance to get into my sewing
room if I in the middle of construction. Thus I can carefully arrange
the piles on a nearby table or board (if the table is full g).
Always remember, too, that triangles are extremely economical to cut
out, provided the fabric does not have a definite up and down in
addition to the right and wrong side.
I wonder if these fabric calculating programs simply take the number of,
say, triangles, calculate their area and thus gain their total.
Whereas, if you cut out one triangle one way, then one upside down right
beside it, there is no extra waste.
It grieves me that FPP is still bedevilled with the wasteful label - it
really doesn't need to be. The benefits certainly outweigh a little
extra to be cut off the seam allowance. When you are doing those long,
pointy triangles, you will bless it - believe me!

Thanks Pat. I wonder if I do two do I really need double the fabric?
Usually not. I think the waste is
part of the reason I avoid PP. That and you have to be pretty organized.
It is tough to be too organized when a kitty or pooch has just wandered
through the room and you find an important patch on their backside hours
later.
They seem to just 'pick them up'.

I have a Judy Neimeyer pattern for the celebration tree skirt. *I am not a

fabric (plus another 2 yards for the backing) * Has anyone worked with her
patterns and found the yardage really
over done? *I might just go for something more sensible\
yardage wise.

doesn't pertain to yardage, but it's good to check for pattern
corrections when starting something new. There are several
corrections on Judy's page for various patterns of hers. I love
this tree skirt! No...no...no........I can't order it....I can't
order it....can't order...........

Ginger pooch is flat out a thief but other than that all is safe with
plastic zips.

Let me tell you about another way for pieces to wander about. I had this
brilliant idea that I would cut the pieces for each block and place them
between sheets construction paper. The theory is orderly but the effect
was traumatic. Now and then, a piece would sneak itself onto the bottom
side of the paper and hide - until I had growled, searched, failed and
replaced it.
Zips would be better - unless, of course, your QIs have learned to undo
or chew through them. Gotta love 'em. Polly

Hey Kathyl, Sure you can order it. It really is ok.
Thanks for reminding me of the corrections. I was there before I got the
pattern. You probably saved me a bunch of trouble!
