Hello,

I'm new to the group, my fiance, Curtis, found the group and thought
I should take a look. So I thought I would introduce myself. Here
goes:

Marie, 46, I've been quilting for a couple of years and yes, I am
additcted. There are four great loves in my life, Quilting, Curtis,
Chocolate and Writing. The first two change rank on an hourly basis.

I have a sewing room that is under going an organization, so right now
the sewing machine is in the livingroom and my cutting table is the
dining room table. I do all sorts of projects, from wall hangings to
quilts. I can't say what I enjoy the most. As for now I do all the
quilting with my 25+ year old sewing machine, but I am looking into a
longarm quilting machine. I'll take all and any advice on which is
the best one to get.

I use Block Base software for the majority of my blocks. It was well
worth the investment. I buy the majority of my fabrics online. I
have LUPUS and my mobility isn't all that great. So if I can't get
out to the local JoAnn's I can still shop. Plus I get to see all the
great fabrics that JoAnn's doesn't carry, and most of all I can bargin
shop. I'm waiting for an order that I have those new SULKY
blendable threads. I can't wait to use them.

Well, enough for now. I'm on vacation and I'm having a temporary
feeling of guilt. So I'll go wash my dishes and it'll pass.

Happy Quilting Everyone!

Hi from Downunder, and welcome.

From your mention of Joann's I am guessing you are in the
USA. Here in the south east corner of OZ it is late on a
cold and dark night. I think we are in for a real heavy
frost tonight.

Next time you get that guilty feeling about dishes - just
close your eyes and meditate until it passes LOL

Goodnight!!

WELCOME!! We're glad that Chris pointed you in our direction! Come back often because there is
always something new to talk about!

A few questions for you?

Dark chocolate or Milk Chocolate?
Any QI's? (quilt inspectors -- usually pets)
What is your current project?
What part of this planet do you call home?

anyhow.... we're glad you're here!

Hi Marie
Welcome!
You've found a very diverse group here that share their lives as much
as their quilting. Quilting skill levels are from very beginner to the
advanced and famous (or infamous? grin).
QI's (pets), children, grandchildren, health and weather extremes are
common topics, but whatever you are interested in you will find an
answer or opinion here. Just don't be too sensitive if the opinion does
not match with your own. That's another great thing about the group, we
are allowed our own opinions, even IF they are wrong! LOL!
I, too have spent some time looking into long arm machines, but the
bottom line for me is not having a place to put one! I did join the
longarm list at www.quiltropolis.com . This group is all about machine
quilting, almost all longarm. They are a wealth of information also,
just much more on-topic than RCTQ.
Well, I better get my dishes finished! It is promising to be a nice hot
day here today, and I don't want to spend the hottest part of it doing
housework.
Guard your chocolate stash! I feel a craving coming on!

Welcome and nice to meet you. What part of the world do you live in? From
your Joanns reference I am guess the US. This is a great group for support
and inspiration in many things including quilting.

Welcome Marie.

There are a couple of other RCTQ'ers who have Lupus, so you won't be
alone when you feel rotten.
If you've only been quilting for about two years, don't think you have
to choose any preference yet! Far too soon g Just keep trying all
sorts and enjoy yourself.

Welcome, Marie! And thanks to Curtis for pointing you in the right
direction. I'm enjoying your sense of humor already! Do let us know
where -- roughly -- you live and whether you have any QIs! The important
stuff, you know.
