Default Prayer Shawl pattern

Good Morning,

Some of my Mom's friends have been knitting Prayer Shawls for years.
I finally did a search on the internet and discovered what these
shawls are all about and wondered if anyone has a favouite pattern. I
did download some off the Lion Brand site, but wondered if there were
others that were even nicer.

thanks...Linda in B.C.

P.S. I stopped by Michael's this afternoon to check out the Lion
Brand Homespun. I quite liked the yarn, but of course the colour I
liked best appeared to be discontinued. I think it was called
Adirondack...gorgeous shading.. Ah well, I will pick out something
else.

I do not know about prayer shawl specifically but the yarn store has some
very nice shawl patterns by fiber trends. I have seen the homespun color
you are talking about and it's beautiful but the yarn stretches for me when
I wash something made with it, maybe it's the way I knit though as I am used
to crochet.

Linda you have to come down to the Loom or Bee hive....LOL but do bring
your wallet as well. I find when I do go in either store, I never come
out empty handed.

Thanks for the invitation Els.....you are such an enabler I've
been to The Loom in Duncan, and find it quite overwhelming. The yarns
are stacked to the ceiling! The Beehive Shop in Victoria is awesome.
Have you ever visited Mad About Ewe in Nanaimo??? Gorgeous yarns.
The Wool Shop in Parksville is quite good too.

Sounds great! Mad About Ewe is not a large shop, but they have lovely
yarns. It's located in the Old City Quarter very near downtown.

That is a date, for sure. I will talk Eimear in coming along.

The loom is indeed a bit overwelming, I often think what if there is a
fire, how do I get out of here. Most of the time though, I browse and
often find nice sock yarns or the butterfly cottons to knit for the Grand
kids.

Nice day today, no rain .....
