one of them might be the reverse.
if the knob thing has a spring, only stays down when its held but pops back
when you let go...probably the reverse 'button/knob' thingy. mine is next to
the to the stitch length regulator on front right of machine.

i have an old singer 730 touch and sew, the type that uses cams in the top
for fancy stitches, not that i've used them much
at all in the nearly 27 yrs i've had it, lol.
no idea what the side levers could be. any more you can tell us about those?
i'd try cleaning out the bobbin area of fuzz/threads first, see if sews
properly then.
dont know about that machine for oiling, i suppose wouldnt hurt to get it
serviced tho.
i presume you bought it already...good price? gotta love those bargains, eh.

A rather dusty and sorta oily machine came into the second hand shop where
I
work. It hasn't any accessories - but it does have a nice table
extension, as
well as some nice embroidery stitches.

First question - will any old bobin case fit in this, or is it a
proprietary
thing?

What are the 2 levers on the right side of the machine? and the little
knob
beside the stitch length regulator?

So, I plugged the machine in - very quiet, but stalls half way through the
stitch - needs servicing.

Anyone have one of these machines?

take care
Liz

Should be a good machine when serviced properly. There is one on Ebay
at $147.00 right now with a day left! There are also manuals and
bobbin cases there. You need the right size bobbin case and bobbins
for that machine. They should still be readily available at any Bernina
shop. Take it into the shop and they should give you an idea on how
much it will take to get what you need to be up and sewing.
Great find, you rarely see a Bernina in a resale shop.

I brought it home to see if she cleaned up nice and to see if it worked -
but my
heart tells me it wants to live with the my other cool machines. So yes I
will
get a good deal.
