I'm with Mary. Although you COULD take some hand-quilting with you, if you
chose. Do what you wish. Don't let others change your mind.

Only exception is if you make your DH change HIS mind. That's ok. He'll
thank you later.

Then by all means stay home and quilt. :-)

Yay! Stay home and quilt it is!
The new QI can't stay home alone and take care of herself for 8 days.
That was the deciding factor. We're going to be "domestic", which I
wanted. I am able to take the free trip any time before before next
December, so now I can plan a great getaway during the year.
When I got home I set up the Featherweight and layed out all the pieces
for the Cabana Cat Quilt that I've been dying to get to. I'll post pics
when it is done.
Many thanks for the reasonable and sound advice.
Hugs,
Dave

I won't vote one way or the other--you do what makes you feel good!

However, remember that you might pick up some unusual fabrics in Yucatan!

I vote you should do what you want! Unless of course there's a bang-up quilt
show scheduled in the Yucatan? No, didn't think so.

I'd take the free trip. I don't want to have any regrets about trips
I missed out on when I'm old and no longer able to travel.

I never realized I quilt with my butt till I saw your quilts... (although I
suspected it). They're beautiful! By all means, stay home and create.
You've seen Mexico already and the vacation with its sights will be history
in a blink, but your quilt creations last.
No contest!
Have fun without conflict, and let your wholeheartedness shine in your
quilting.

Tough decission, Suzie,
I've been there before, just a couple of years ago. Climbed the Mayan

lunch. (I know, it WAS really nice.) I guess I'm just tired of white
sandy beaches and swaying palm trees, yada yada yada. I think I'm
leaning towards the quilting. Hmmm...

I mean, I've taken walks and hikes on the beach, but it is a completely
different experience, the water is ALWAYS cold!!!
