Default can't travel, will quilt

Yesterday DH and I decided that I just need one day of not traveling up
there to the hospital. Hard as it is to leave him up there alone, I had to
agree. I'm not really safe on the road, here in the dead-zone of travel
weary. So I will be home all day today. I plan to call him at least 3
times, rest, answer emails, monitor IM, listen to music, and work on the
wedding quilt. Might do a little laundry, but not much of the ordinary
stuff. Oh yeah, I am also going over to my friend's hot tub and luxuriate
for an hour before lunch. : )
Today we find out if the bleeding has stopped. In about 3 days we
will know if it is going to start again. Then we decide what to do about
the heart rhythm issues. When I get him home I will take about one more
week off teaching, in order to rest and get my head back into normal
thinking. It will take him several weeks of PT/OT before he can get back to
work. But today I sew! (and miss him)

You really, REALLY need this day off, so just enjoy it. Feel no guilt
about not being with him. Yes you mis him, and he will miss you. It
makes tomorrow all the sweeter.

Take my best wishes to him when you see him again.

It will be hard, but taking time for yourself now will
help you both in the long run. Enjoy your day to the
best of your ability.

So glad you have the good sense to take a time-out. We know you must be
exhausted - which does Not make for a good driver or supporting spouse.
Prayers for you and DH continue from Mississippi. Polly

Karen,

As someone who would drive to San Diego everyday for three weeks to see her
10 month old baby, I am so glad you are taking it easy today. You HAVE to
take care of you or you will not be any good for DH. Hope you get a lot done
on the quilt, spend a lot of time in the hot tub and GET SOME SLEEP!
Tomorrow, you will feel better and the drive will not be as daunting.

Prayers and hugs are being sent to both of you
