if you read through Google, you can't do anything about
M15
(who, BTW, has lost access again temporarily) or any other
spam.
you need a newsreader & an NNTP (usenet news) provider to
use
filters. i do highly recommend it, as it makes usenet so
much more useful.
if your internet provider doesn't offer news, there are
free
or low-cost ones you can access worldwide. if you use
Windows, there's a newsreader built into Outlook Express.

Thank you! what do I put at the point where it says: Type
the name of the Internet news (NNTP) server your Internet
service provider has given you... I dont know what that
means. This is one field that I have always shied away
from, so I REALLY need help to understand how to do this!
Thanks for your patience.

well what company do you connect to the internet through? you
will probably need to look at their customer service site or
give them a call to get the exact server, but usually it's
something like "news.ispname.com" or "nntp.ispname.net".
some isps require a login & password (usually the same as
your email if they do), but most don't unless you're
connecting from outside their system (i post through mv, for
example, but connect through metrocast, so i have a login &
password for the mv newsserver)

let you do what? did you get the server name?
if you have that, let me know & i'll go look at OE (i don't
use it, so i'll have to take a peek. it's been a few years
since i did CSg). then i can write you out a step by step,
ok?
