Today I received two really wonderful, unusual ,pretty squares from Bart.

I'm glad that you like them Gwen, and thank you for the compliment.
The one that is made with four little squares, is how I join all the squares or hexagons. I join them while I am crocheting the last round, that way there is no sewing them together later. I have two afghans going at the moment, one is made with squares, and the other is made with hexagons, I think I like the hex one better. Bart
