Hi Guys,
I don't remember if I posted this before but I have uploaded some
new photos to my Webshots Quilting album and to Cheeto's album. There
is one of Cheeto (Kitten from Hell) helping me hold up a quilt and
several of the continuous line FM quilting design of a horse head. I
adapted the single design to a multiple head design to use on the large
pieced borders.
The quilt Cheeto is with is the one I made for my DSis to give her
friend for her anniversary. It was supposed to be nothing but those
pretty spider web PP blocks but I had to go to "Plan B". I got crazy
(short trip, I know) taking the paper off the blocks so I had to change
the layout in mid stride! I DO NOT like the look of the finished quilt
but it was all I could come up with at the time. I didn't want to spend
a bunch more $$$ on more fabric and I was trying to get the (**&&^*&
thing finished before Turkey Day! Nor did I want the quilt to end up
more than a large lap quilt. VBS - The recipients love the quilt --
especially all the horse fabrics and FM designs -- so that's all that
matters.
There is also a photo of the large square (about 80") "LAP" quilt I
made for myself. It had to be this big so that the kitties could sit
with me and have enough "blankie" to sleep on AND I could still have my
overly generous self covered up. Also included is another large 80"
square quilt for the friends who lost everything in a house fire last
spring. I used the same fabrics that were used in my autumn quilt and
Little Mike's {{{Quilt}}} so if it looks similar, it is :-). This is
the fourth quilt (three at 80" square and one lap quilt) I have made
with those fabrics and I *still* have stacks and stacks of the stuff
left! What WAS I thinking when I bough all those fabrics?!?!? I think
I started off with more than FORTY different fabrics -- all a minimum of
1 yard! I'll be happy to share if anyone out there needs any autumn
fabrics!!! CiaoMeow ^;;^

I can see why the recipients love the quilt - great colors and great
quilting. No one would ever know it wasn't supposed to look that way!

I also enjoyed your lap quilt and the quilt for your friends. I really
do like those autumn prints. As to what you were thinking when you
bought them? You were thinking, "I like them and I need them!"

I love autumn colours - they were the tones GeoBear made me buy for my Sis
60th birthday quilt.

Well done, lovely work.

First off, it looks like you're teaching Cheeto to be a first rate quilt
inspector. :-) I can't believe how big he's become. He was such a
tiny little thing when your DH found him. Is he still going to your DGD
for Christmas?

The Anniversary Quilt is lovely. Your FM quilted horses are
outstanding! I can see why your friends were thrilled.

Winter Cat Quilt is wonderful! Of course, I'm partial to scrappy. :-)
Bailey's Quilt looks so warm and inviting. The autumn colors really
did the trick.

Best regards,
Michelle in Nevada

YES!!! And I can't wait to get rid of the little devil! DH might
miss him once he's gone but I won't let the door smack him on the butt
on his way out!!!!! He's very sweet & loving and an total nightmare
live with! Absolutely **everything** moving or not is a toy to him. He
is a thief and will take anything he can get his teeth into -- more like
a dog than a cat. He is unbelievably destructive and STILL torments the
other cats constantly. We have almost no Christmas decorations up
because he would destroy anything he can get close to. The only tree we
have up is the white artificial tree in the front window. It has lights
but no ornaments because he would get them and break them. I put the
red & green wire garland on the tree -- the kind with the sparkly
metallic stars on it. I keep the garland loose and curly once on the
tree and he has managed to chew ALL of the stars off of it up to about
knee height. We now have little red & green metallic stars strewn all
over the house, upstairs and down.
He sleeps with us every night and that's fine. Until 3:00 AM rolls
around and I roll over in bed and he leaps upon my feet and engages them
in fierce combat to the death. VBS, like I said, I did not want a
kitten and I certainly didn't want a male kitten!!! I will not miss
him, I will not miss picking up the place mats and napkins and coasters
and napkin rings off of the kitchen floor 2 or 3 times a day, I will not
miss picking up the feathers from his feather toy, etc., etc., etc. In
short, I will be extremely happy to give him to the SMDGD for Christmas
and say good-bye! NO MORE KITTENS!!! WHEW -- glad I got that out of my
system -- LOLOL! CiaoMeow ^;;^

LOL! Yep, Cheeto sounds like the typical male kitten. :-) Makes me
remember Charley's kitten days. I'll have to admit, that I think
kittens are about the cutest things that walk the planet, but it is much
calmer around here now that Charley is five.

Thanks for the lovely description of Cheetos' antics, Mary!
