I sort my DMC thread by number. I have wondered, recently if by color isn't better. When I substitute color I find it harder to find the color. Input please

I know what you mean about substituting but I agree with Sheena.

Although if you're trying to design something, then color might be
better. Then you'd get to decide...does this teal go with the blues or
the greens? It would be pretty to look at, if nothing else.

I know! Get 2 sets of floss and do one set each way!

Shakespeare's Peddler used to have a color family chart. Her site is
now an ebay store BUT here's a chart of the color families I found.

Hi all,
I've been lurking for ages, rarely posting. Have referred to this post
several times (kept it 'unread' for ages so it wouldn't disappear!), but it
appears the yarntree pdf is now quite outdated. (I was looking for 156 and
couldn't find it, even though could find it on my LNS website and others.)
So I went looking on DMC website and found this...

http://dmc-usa.com/Products/Needlewo...ery-Floss.aspx
Click on the "Colors" link below floss pic, and you'll get a PDF of current
list which also shows the discontinued colours (and what they've been
replaced with).

Hope this is of help to someone...
