Hello Pat,

Didn't get a card off. but I really did think of you.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas, and may the new Year bring you both
(and dogs) Health and Happiness.

Yup - what she said. Though I haven't gotten cards out in about 10 years.
Maybe I'll manage it in 2012.

Best wishes for the Healthy, Happy New Year to all.

Ellice, maybe that is why the Post Office is going broke. You didn't
mail your seasonal cards!! LOL

Have a great New Year

I'm starting to like the idea of Valentine's Day cards instead of
Christmas. We really need a pick-me-up in the dead of winter, and
there's more time to send them. And there's NEVER a bad time to send a
little bit of love!

Dunno about America, but the cost of postage here is prohibitive - it costs
the best part of £1.00 to post 2 cards first class now - just to UK
addresses. I didn`t realise just how much it was until I bought a load of
stamps (First and Scond class don`t have the actual price on them now).

Thank goodness for friends on-line as there are some lovely electronic cards
out there now. An annual subscription is really worth it these days. I`m
not mean at all, just don`t like being robbed by the Government any more
than absolutely necessary for something that will only be throw away or
recycled a few days later!!

Back in 1989 my mom had cancer and had a last ditch surgery on
December 15. She knew it wouldn't save her but it bought her enough
time that she knew she wouldn't be leaving us with the memory of her
having died at Christmas time. Needless to say, I didn't get the
Christmas cards out that year so I sent out cards for Valentine's
Day. Those close enough to be receiving cards knew what was going on
anyway. :-) She did make it until the end of March but it's much
easier to remember St Patrick's Day as my last day with her than to
always remember Christmas that way. :-) This year, I did actually
get the cards out before Christmas, even if most may not have been
received until a few days after. :-)
