I guess to some people, "Jewelry" is gold, silver, and gems, and
anything else doesn't count. Especially anything that doesn't involve
soldering.

LOL - sounds like I should go over there and "let off some steam"! But
seriously, why on earth would they say you aren't a jewelry maker?
You.......make jewelry. I've seen the proof!

Yeah, that's true... but seems to be more predictable. Wetcanvas is way
too unpredictable, and, believe it or not, gets a lot nastier in tone
despite being moderated. It's just an underhanded nastiness, ie "Some
people are stupid, irresponsible, and possibly criminally negligible"
instead of "So-and-so, you are a stupid bitch!" which at least gets it
out in the open so the air can be cleared.

Anyway... I'm not out to pick on WC, but that's the main reason I no
longer spend much time there, among others such as being tired, and
dealing with three kids, a small business, and PPD!

the wrong person says the wrong thing at the wrong time, they get
crucified, while on another day another person might say the same thing,
and no one will bat an eye.

Hell, that happens here. I can say almost anything to anyone, but let Sooz say
the same thing and half the board explodes. I have left several times, in
fact, and came back when I could stand it again. Also blocked one person from
my list -- that helped, a lot.

So silly, since non-soldered jewelry takes just as much skill and
dexterity, just a different KIND of skill. It can also be at least as
expensive...

that seems to be a large part of their attitude, yes.

I have version 1.8, which used to work fine, until the
XP upgrade....

Why don't you download their newest version. It will download without
loss of your settings and folders. My version seems to work well with
XP.
