The keyboard from my girlfriend. All the time she spends stitching and
then she goes on the internet to talk about stitching? Question. Do
you people have a 12 step program where everyone is smoking cigarettes,
drinking coffee and shaking....lol. I am no better though I get into
horse racing and its not as if I have anything to put on the wall. I
fish too and I still don't have anything to put on the wall...lol No
sense in really responding to me I don't lurk here this is my
girlfriends account and nic. Later BOB

BOB,

12 STEP Program for Stitchers Anonymous

1) I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and read my
newspaper like I used to, before I learned to stitch.

2) I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not with
one hand flipping through my charts.

3) I will get dressed before noon.

4) I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan
dinner before even thinking of my newest project.

5) I will sit down and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends
and family that are not 'on the needle.'

6) I will call someone on the phone who doesn't know the difference
between stamped and counted.

7) I will read a book...if I still remember how. (No Monica Ferris
books for the first month of recovery.)

8) I will listen to those around me and their needs and stop telling
them to turn the TV down so I can concentrate on my project.

9) I will not be tempted during TV commercials to run to my computer
and check r.c.t.n. for new messages.

10) I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is
necessary or not. (One local stitch shop visit per month!)

11) I will remember that my bank is not forgiving if I forget to balance
my checkbook because I was too busy stitching.

12) Last, but not least, I will remember that I must go to bed sometime
and the project will always be there tomorrow!

aeromom
(apologies to the serious 12-step programs)

LOL...
This is the real lurker and owner of the user nic and NOT the poor sap
of a BF that puts up with my addiction. I am honestly surprised that he
reached out for help looking for support groups of XS-addicted loved
ones (StitchAnon?).
Putting this in perspective, I have finished 2 TW's, working an MLI,
experimenting in Hardanger, with an everpresent need for S.E.X. and
stash. "I'm fine and I don't have a problem..."
My answer to 12-step programs is fine by me. I will take 12 steps to my
LNS!!!

I like your style!

Cheryl,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.... I almost hate to say that what I
previously wrote is an approximation at best. I still have other pieces
and WIP's that I did NOT mention! Hehehe

I only wish I had a LNS that close! It used to be about 1/2 a mile
but then it closed and now the closest one is an hour and a half away.
I'm ok for a while now, though - I got to go there yesterday (only
spent $22, that's pretty good, isn't it?!) ;-) Paula B.
