Default my yarn bargains!

I went to a local fabric store on Saturday (JoAnn Fabrics) and they were
unloading some of their yarns. I know it's not fancy, but I snagged some
Lion Brand Baby Homespun for 97 cents a skein! I'm making newborn baby
blankets out of it using 10 1/2 circulars and the simple "Grandma's
Favorite" dishcloth pattern. I'll make each one about 36" square, and I
bought 5 skeins, so I should get two blankets from that amount. The yarn is
a cream and lavendar varigated. I'm halfway through the first one, and I
plan on donating them to charity. I also bought some Pattons yarn for 97
cents a skein and I plan on making afghans for each of my boys. I love
deals like that and I just had to share!

My Hancock fabrics won't be carrying magazines anymore and were selling
off what they have at $1 each. And at Hobby Lobby, all knitting needles
and accessories are 50% off this week.

Thanks a lot sue. I *really* didn't need that information, the
closest Hobby Lobby is about 30 miles away. I wonder if the magazine
thingie extends to all the Hancock stores. I may have to check out
ours here in Cedar Rapids.

While you're there.... My Hancocks is also closing out some colors of
WoolEase and other yarns at 60% off, and HL has baskets of stuff under
$3 and the Soft Delight is 59 cents each. I want some of the SD because
of the price, but don't know what I'd make with it, since it's the fuzzy
sort of yarn.
