Seanette , never seen that before but yes , I agree with Godwin's law ( I
did however splutter my branflakes and semi-skimmed milk across the 'puter screen when I read it !!! How do you get branflakes out of a keyboard ?) Jan "Seanette Blaylock" wrote in message ... S (Karen C - California) had some very interesting things to say about OT rcty: Seanette, dear, if the RCTY/M crowd annoy you that much, don't play with them any more. We like you here just fine. They're welcome to Mirjam; we've all I do stay here. I get more useful info about yarn here anyway, even around our occasional flamewars. :-) figured out how to killfile her, and the more obnoxious she gets, the more people will actually use that knowledge. Eventually, she'll figure out that over here she's talking to a brick wall and she'll go back where she's treated like God and we won't have to listen to her rabid drivel any more. I've summarized this whole thing for DH [you remember his sense of "humor" :-)], and he brought up Godwin's Law [see http://info.astrian.net/jargon/terms...win_s_Law.html (note that the "spaces" are actually underscores) for a good definition]. I thought he had a good point, actually. :-) -- "The universe is quite robust in design and appears to be doing just fine on its own, incompetent support staff notwithstanding. :-)" - the Dennis formerly known as (evil), MCFL |

Carrie , hello . I haven't been here long but I really feel I belong here .
You will pick up loads of really useful info on all types of needlework and there's always someone to help with a problem . What you won't find however is anyone raised to sainthood and anyone trying to make themselves one will quickly (and painfully) be dealt with or if they get too annoying (as has happened to one person I can think of - hhhmmm who could that be ? ) Killfiled inthe hopes that eventually they'll vanish like the proverbial oozlem bird !!! Jan "Artchick" wrote in message s.com... "Gillian Murray" wrote in message news I did a few days back, and it was hilarious. Then the NSDMIL had a yarn question ( I told her it wasn't the right yarn, and there was insufficient, but what do I know??) So I courteously asked a question today on rcty. No response. Hi, visiting from rcty (where I must admit, I haven't been terribly long) - until today, I didn't know this group existed. You have 4 answers to your question over there, btw - I didn't know an answer myself, or I'd have given one. I mostly work with Wal-Mart yarn, which is pleasantly cheap and what I spin myself, so yours wasn't familiar to me. I'll keep poking through here, if no one minds, because I do dabble in embroidery just a bit. But I hope that you'll not be too upset with me if I say that with this being the first thread that pops up here, and all the posts that look like blanket slamming of darn near everyone in both groups over there, I'm a little nervous to be here - I sort of feel automatically unwelcome. Carrie - after as much knowledge as I can get, but not comfortable with flames at all. |

Just ignore the flames, Carrie, if they upset you - mostly we all have a
good (if sometimes rude!) sense of humour, and good friends always insult each other from time to time without taking real offence! We exchange a lot of knowledge, and generally just have fun when the stitching talk dries up. Pat P (aka Attila the Hen) "Artchick" wrote in message s.com... Mind you, Mary - she does provide us with some good laughs(quite
unintentionally, I`m sure!). Particularly if we call upon the Daleks for assistance! Pat P "Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply " wrote in message ... From: "Gillian Murray" ..... It does make me wonder why mirjam has picked rctn for her fights Because she knows there will *always* be someone here who will take the bait! At the risk of being told (yet again) that I am "ordering" everyone around and telling you all what to think, I *still* say we need to totally & completely ignore her contentious and inflamatory posts. She's like a spoiled child who knows that if she throws a fit she'll get the attention -- good or bad, makes no difference -- she appears to crave! I'm sure it makes her feel as though she has some sort of power over the group -- LOL! CiaoMeow ^;;^ . PAX, Tia Mary ^;;^ Queen of Kitties Angels can't show their wings on earth but nothing was ever said about their WHISKERS!! Nothing is complete without a few cat hairs! |

Good God - she still can`t even spell hypocrites right, even when she`s
replying to a post in which Elizabeth spells it correctly. Of what use is her much vaunted collection of dictionaries? Pat P "Mirjam Bruck-Cohen" wrote in message ... Last night I got curious and went over to see what was going on on RCTY --
partly because I'm unbecomingly nosy, and partly because I am doing more knitting right now and thought that I'd check on that aspect before I ask yarn questions. I was sure that Seanette was exagerating...wow, do I owe her an apology! If I ever post over there, I think I'll need a new persona so I won't get blacklisted as a rude "needle stabber!" Sheesh!
